Mitchell DeJong continued progress on his Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series championship plight by dominating yet another round of action during Saturday's round three showdown at Surprise, Arizona. Piloting the mighty Speed Technologies machine, the Red Bull-backed phenom launched out of the shoot with a commanding lead and took the top finish for the day at the sweltering motocross-style Speedworld Offroad Park.

Giving a hard tug at his heels, Mitch Guthrie Jr. made a run to go side-by-side into a hairpin turn shortly after the competition yellow, but DeJong shot wide to slam the door shut on his advance. Guthrie managed to maintain his position for a second place finish, while Sheldon Creed finished third.

His second win of the season, DeJong, the reigning series champion, jumped into round one short course off-road race to snatch victory at Firebird Raceway last month. He backed that up with a second for round two action at Firebird Raceway's Sunday race, barely missing the top spot by a quarter-second deficit to Guthrie. DeJong continues into Sunday's round 4 action at the helm of the LOORRS Modified Kart championship points chase.
